The Flip

Removed old System 1 power supply board for reconditioning with the capacitors, etc, that came in from DigiKey. We will be following recommendations from here: https://www.pinrepair.com/sys1/

We found one wire to this power supply board had been broken or cut near the Molex connector (see photo).

Right now, it is hard to be certain how to separate the board from its metal backing plate. Olivia and I believe we need to desolder the transistor on the back side of the backing plate.

This power supply board is nonstandard, and has clearly been worked on before.

Open Problem: Game stops working and seems to be crashing in the middle of gameplay. You can play for a while and then the displays and kickers go completely dead. Power cycling the game fixes the issue briefly.

I tried picking the lock to Hulk’s backbox, but the lock was fairly new and I failed. So, Olivia and I drilled out the old backbox lock. Olivia installed one of our standard locks.

Closed Problem: Lost back box key

Realigned the flippers. Note: the left flipper needs to be a bit higher than the flipper gap tool would suggest or else it will rub against the playfield and get stuck.

Still working. Downgrading problem to minor. Still worth investigating the power outputs to see if the voltages are correct.
