Left flipper was misaligned, possibly due to coil sleeve being too short. Couldn’t get coil sleeve out. Instead swapped spring washer to coil to stop end to make coil align better. Works for now.

Right flipper was a little sticky, so I disassembled it, cleaned the coil sleeve and pin. Seems better.

No obvious source of smoke, but the left flipper was pretty weak. Took it apart to clean and align it as best I could, but that didn’t help. The plunger is kinda chewed up, so I’ll order a flipper rebuild kit for the machine.
